THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This outstanding radio was sold by Firestone under the "Air Chief" name. Firestone once sold their own name branded appliances, including radios, within their tire stores. The R-1661-A seven-tube set, in its walnut cabinet, was just a step below much larger console radios in terms of sound quality. It was The top model Firestone offered in their 1936-37 line-up. With an 8-inch speaker and advanced electronic design for its time, it rivaled the best sets of its day; considering it was manufactured by Stewart Warner, that was no surprise. The new green magic tuning eye is mesmerizing to see in a darkened room as is the drop dead gorgeous 6-inch graphic rich dial with the airplane style dial pointer. This cabinet has been expertly refinished using the very finest grain fillers and lacquers, producing a beautiful luster. The electronics have been completely restored (one year warranty) and it plays very nicely on the AM and both shortwave bands. I've added an aux input so you can expand your listening enjoyment should you wish listen to your own supplied music. 20-1/4"W x 11-3/4"H x 9-1/2"D.
