Crosley 11-121-U (1951)
(plastic tube clock radio)

Crosley 11-121-U (1951)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This Crosley Retro icon from the 1950's is in really excellent condition. The styling on these early 1950's clock radios was obviously inspired by the automobile industry with the use of flashy metal trim, swooping symmetrical curves, and a speedometer-like dial and clock front. Anyone who is familiar with these radios knows that the metal clock and radio escutcheons almost always show tarnished wear from 70 years of use. The escutcheons on this set are in really super nice condition. The color coordinated clock knobs are on the radio, and the original back also. There is most of a complete label on the bottom. The clock is working, keeping good time. And the radio has been completely gone over by a pro, everything needing replacing was replaced, and is working and playing and picking up all my local AM stations clearly. There are no cosmetic problems like cracks or chips. This is a really nice detailed example that looks quite elegant in its glossy ebony black color. They just don't get much better than this. About 13"W x 7-1/2"H x 7"D.
