Truetone D-2017 "Boomerang" (1950)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

Truetone D-2017 "Boomerang" (1950)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Mid-Century at its best! Here is a favorite of the Art Deco collectors. It is the iconic artsy Truetone "Boomerang" six-tube, AM only radio. These were sold through Western Auto stores in the day. It has the "modern" look that the Philco "Boomerang" had at the same time period. I love the sound of this radio. It has a large speaker inside for great tone and clarity. It plays out with a nice mellow tube sound and has a light up dial. This would make a nice radio to display in your mid-century modern collection. It has been electronically restored. Its Bakelite cabinet has no cracks, chips or hairlines and retains a glossy deep walnut color that appears almost black. It retains its original grille cloth, factory back, dial and dial glass. Another great radio from my smoke-free personal collection. About 15"W x 9-1/2"H x 8"D.
