RCA Victor 66X8 Catalin "Tuna Boat" (1946)
(Catalin tube table radio)

RCA Victor 66X8 Catalin "Tuna Boat" (1946)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Known to collectors as the "Tuna Boat," this Catalin cabinet with a very low serial number has the distinction of being the largest Catalin radio ever manufactured. The black Catalin cabinet is heavily marbleized with tones of yellow, gold, orange, green and brown that add depth to an already stunning radio. The chassis has been totally cleaned and restored with all capacitors, pilot lamps, and weak tubes replaced, all resistors and controls checked, and the 2nd IF transformer repaired. The radio cabinet has been cleaned and polished to an incredible gloss. Radio cabinet is in perfect condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The three golden-swirled Bakelite knobs are original to the radio as is the crystal clear dial glass, gold grille cloth, rear panel and bottom manufacturer's sticker denoting its "3105" serial number. The electrical cord is a new replacement. Now picking up all my local stations clearly across the dial, this beauty is now ready to display and play! Another great radio from my personal, smoke-free collection. About 15-1/4"W x 8-3/4"H x 6-3/4"D.
