Zenith 5-S-29 Tombstone (1935)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

Zenith 5-S-29 Tombstone (1935)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This "Black Dial" Zenith is one of their most beautiful little tombstones. The dial lights up beautifully and bright in green, red and yellow. The curly maple inlayed strips around the bottom sides of the cabinet really set the cabinet off. The cabinet has been refinished using the original shade of stain, and toner lacquers. I then filled the grain to give it that glass smooth feel, like it had when it was new. Last but not least, four coats of hand rubbed lacquer. The chassis has been cleaned and electronically restored, replacing all capacitors and out of tolerance resistors. The original speaker was reconed by "The Speaker Shop" in Lima, Ohio. This radio plays loud and clear on all three bands. This radio is very collectable and every collector should have one of these; I have two or I would have to keep it. A very nice set. 18"H x 12-1/2"W x 8"D.
