Philco 116X Console (1936)
(wood tube console radio w/SW)

Philco 116X Console (1936)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This excellent radio is ready for you to proudly display and listen to. A classic and rare model, this is a five-band AC-powered superhet using eleven tubes, with RF stage, dual IF amplifiers and, in the words of Philco, a "High-Fidelity audio system," based upon a pair of (expensive) 6A3 triodes operated in "super class A" push-pull and providing a maximum of 15W undistorted output, featuring three "acoustic clarifiers." The dial uses a lighted pointer for station selection; click here for more info. The cabinet was restored using toning and clear lacquers. The first picture shows the trim to be dark walnut, which is correct. The others show it as a light brown, but that is due to the camera flash. The radio plays very well with just a short antenna. The electronics are completely restored. The chassis looks as nice as the cabinet. Aux input cable has been added: play your favorite tunes or old time radio shows from CD player, iPod, etc. Bluetooth receiver can be added for $30 and you can stream audio from your phone, etc. 90 day warranty applies. Pickup preferred but Greyhound shipment is available. 42"H x 27"W x 13-1/2"D.
