General Electric L653 by Ingraham (1946)

General Electric L653 by Ingraham (1946)
In 1946, GE continued the tradition of a radio as a fine piece of furniture, in the face of the cheaper Bakelite and metal cabinets starting to dominate the radio marketplace. GE turned to the Ingraham Co. to provide the traditional quality for the post War era. This is an AM only result of that marketing decision. Beautiful walnut, with a contrasting burl panel, in a sleek, modernistic design. Radio has been restored electronically, and plays well with good reception with its internal antenna loop. Its original back is present as well, but a bit worn at the bottom.  $325.00. (1100162)
