Packard-Bell 501 (1949)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

Packard-Bell 501 (1949)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This compact Bakelite All American Five is in great condition and performs beautifully. The cabinet is completely free of chips and cracks, and any scuffs are minor and hard to see. The shine is the original Bakelite shine; this radio has not been clear coated. The knobs and back are original. Packard-Bell used "Stationized" dials, which give a nice historical snapshot of the most prominent stations in the western U.S. at the time. The chassis has been fully restored, with a strong set of tubes, all new capacitors, and a full RF/IF alignment. It performs like new, and will surprise you with its sensitivity and good sound. The lighted dial looks great in a darkened room. This radio has a tone control (concentric with volume control). The original power cord is in great shape (a rarity for a radio of this age) and has been left in place. Service tag on the back indicates this radio was still in regular use in the late 1980s. Small and light, so shipping will be inexpensive. 10"W x 6-1/2"H x 5-1/2"D.
