Grunow 460 Tombstone (1934)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

Grunow 460 Tombstone (1934)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here we have a Grunow mini-tombstone. This four-tube Standard Broadcast-only radio is a simple design, but the one thing that makes it special is the Quilted or Birds-Eye Maple veneer used on some of the cabinets. Oak or Mahogany veneer could be found on some as well, but in my opinion, the Maple finish is beautiful and a lot better looking! Joe went through the chassis, replacing all of the capacitors, out-of-tolerance resistors, checked the tubes, and with Blake's help, rewound an open oscillator coil. We aligned the radio, and it plays great! Gary knocked it out of the park with a hand rubbed, piano-like refinish. Toss in a new grille cloth, and you have a gorgeous radio that would be a stand-out in anyone's collection. Another cool thing is that all of the original labels are still with this 83 year old radio! The Grunow will be packed with our tried and true packing methods outlined in our shipping notes. Please add $38 for shipping in the continental USA. 13"H x 10-1/2"W x 7"D.
