Philco 16B Tombstone (1935)
(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

Philco 16B Tombstone (1935)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

In June of 1934 Philco produced the model 16B, their first tombstone radio, and the top of the line for 1935. Later that fall Philco made some circuit improvements and changed the cabinet producing the second series 16B. This eleven-tube, "All-Wave" four-band (AM, SWx3) is one high-performing set. There's a tuning meter above the dial and a 10-inch electro-dynamic speaker being driven by a "Super Class A" push-pull output stage producing 10 watts. Blake has professionally restored the chassis by replacing all the wax and paper capacitors with new Mylar caps of equal values and checked and replaced the tubes and resistors as needed. A new cloth cord and an audio cable have been added to plug and play your own device. This beautiful radio retains its original chassis, speaker and knobs in great condition. The cabinet retains its original satin finish and a new grille cloth has been installed. Don't miss out on the opportunity to own the "Holly Grail" of Philco radios. This is a big, 45 lb. radio! 22"H x 17"W x 12"D.
