Silvertone 1809 "World's Fair" Tombstone (1935)
This vintage Sears "Worlds Fair" stepped tombstone is truly an impressive radio! Note this is shown in Stein Vols II and III as "Worlds Fair" Model 1808, but this one matches the picture perfectly. It has been electronically and cosmetically restored. It works extremely well, and covers the broadcast (550-1700 KC) and shortwave (5.5-16.5 MC) bands. This is a seven tube model: 2-56, 2-58, 2A6, 47 and 80. The finish is very nice (already restored when I bought it so not sure how it was done) and displays great! I replaced the filter caps and all the paper caps. The speaker cone is perfect; the output transformer has been replaced. Additional pics are available. This rare radio would be a great addition to any collection! 15-1/2"H x 15"W x 11"D, shipping weight 24 pounds.
$399.00 - Offered for sale at Phil Bartell's Attic.

Philco 66 Cathedral (1933)
Sometimes you come across a radio that has the word special across the face of the radio, and this is just that radio. The condition is outstanding, both inside, with the extremely competent attentions of my technician, and a case that looks factory new. Solid in performance and an extremely fine example, makes this a terrific Philco to own! 17-1/2"H x 12-1/2"W x 9-1/2"D.
$279.99 - Offered for sale at Exceptional Radios.

Majestic 381 "Treasure Chest" (1933)
This rare "Treasure Chest" table radio is the best example I have seen in my years of collecting. All others I have seen are missing several pieces of the repwood trim. This is complete except for a tiny piece missing on the front left where the lid closes. It has been electronically restored (one filter cap and coupling cap only), and works well, covering the broadcast (550-1700 KC) band. This is only a four tuber, so reception is limited to strong signals unless you use an outside antenna. The finish is very nice and looks to be original. The repwood gold trim finish is mostly worn off, and I thought about redoing it, but decided the next owner should have that option. Original label is intact; chassis and additional pics are available. This rare "novelty" radio would be a super addition to your collection! 11"W x 10"H x 8"D, shipping weight 14 pounds.
$349.00 - Offered for sale at Phil Bartell's Attic.

Empress 55"Chalet" (1946)
Rare five tube radio; it looks like a cute little Swiss cottage. The dial is in the door and the knobs are in the windows. It's made of solid wood and Masonite, not plastic. This very good sounding radio has been electronically restored. When shipped the left side of the roof edge was broken and now the roof has been professionally repaired and painted, so it's very difficult to tell (see extra photos).
$287.00 - Offered for sale at Ben Martin's Attic.

Halson 50S Mini-Tombstone (1936)
This small Halson Radio Corp (New York, NY) Tombstone radio is an impressive performer for a five tuber! It is in none of my books, but I believe it to be the 50S, as it is extremely close to the 50S schematic in Riders at 7-4. Tube lineup is 6A7, 6K7, 75, 43, 25Z5 and 40A2 Ballast. It is a superheterodyne design and covers the broadcast band and two short wave bands (1.5-4.5 MC & 6-18 MC). It is a sensitive receiver on all bands, and has a beautiful airplane dial! It has been electronically restored but the finish appears to be original (grille cloth is new) and the grain and inlay is beautiful!. There is a hairline crack at the right side bottom, but it is hardly noticeable; the finish is a little thin on top front. The dial is really colorful and clear and stands out. Serial number S722395. This small and apparently rare radio would be a great addition to any collection! Shipping weight is 16 pounds. 14-1/2"H x 10-1/2"W x 8-1/2"D.
$249.00 - Offered for sale at Phil Bartell's Attic.

Atwater Kent 84B
One of the best all original AK cathedral sets we have had. The finish, grille cloth and knobs are all in fantastic condition. This is the rare battery version of the commonly seen model 84 and a truly beautiful radio. All the tubes test good and the original connection tag is still attached to the cord. The set is otherwise untested. The perfect addition to any radio collection. 19"H x 15"W x 9"D.
$649.99 - Offered for sale at Mark Toppo's Attic.

Zenith Trans-Oceanic A600L
These are not easy to find in excellent condition, and this is a really nice one. The leather has some minor wear and discoloration. As you can see there is nothing that takes away from the overall beauty of this fine set. There are two tight 1/2" cracks in the clear plastic that wrap around the top edge on the left and right sides. This set is super clean and complete with log book and owners manual. It does have the antenna clip and the antenna functions properly. The push button contacts have been cleaned, but otherwise the set did not need serviced. When tested I got strong clear reception on every band. 17"W x 11"H x 8"D.
$349.99 - Offered for sale at Mark Toppo's Attic.

RCA 55X
Here is an extra clean dual speaker table top. The original finish still retains the factory shine. In addition it has the complete cardboard back and the base label is near perfect. The radio has been serviced and plays well. With two speakers it puts out plenty of sound! You will not find a nicer original example. 17"W x 8"H x 7"D.
$179.99 - Offered for sale at Mark Toppo's Attic.

RCA BP-10 Portable (1940)
This small battery portable was very innovative for 1940. It is among the best examples I've seen, but unfortunately the lid is damaged. It is cracked at both hinges with the worst side shown. The lid also has a chip at the front right corner. Otherwise the chrome and case are in beautiful condition. The interior is extra clean and shows no signs of ever being serviced. There is no leakage from the old batteries so I have left them for display. I did test it and there was a strong audio hum. This radio still makes a great display and conversation piece. 9"W x 3"H x 3-3/4"D.
$69.99 - Offered for sale at Mark Toppo's Attic.

Framed Radio Ads (1920s-1930s)
Offered are nine framed radio ads from the 1920s-early 30s. These are glass with plastic frames. The Philco frame was cracked at the upper right corner and I glued it back together. The picture shows that the card board hanger had torn and caused the damage. Otherwise they are all in excellent condition. Models pictured are Radiolas 20 & 33, Philco 90, 70 & 50, Atwater Kent 40, 35, 30, 33, 20, & E speaker, Victor "His Master's Voice" Trademark dog with phonograph.
$49.99 - Offered for sale at Mark Toppo's Attic.

This was the largest set made by Philco both in size and tube count. The radio is a reliable super het that has 11 tubes in the circuit. In an era of five and six tubes, you must appreciate what a radio with twice the tube count meant The sound from the super circuit and the large 22-inch tall cabinet, is fantastic. The front is in terrific shape and the balance of the radio in very nice original condition. My technician has done a stellar job with the electronic, ensuring you years of trouble free service. He has replaced all of the filters and caps. The balance of the restoration was done with the finest of performance considerations. Nothing was left undone, so all you need to do is simply plug it in and enjoy the special performance characteristics. 22"H x 17"W x 13-1/2"D.
$599.00 - Offered for sale at Exceptional Radios.

Zenith RE27Y (1970s)
Zenith rechargeable AM/FM radio features a cool hide-away dial, brushed aluminum trim, collapsible carry handle, swivel/retractable antenna, charging stand etc. Performance of this little radio is outstanding across both bands. Fully charged, it will play for days if used intermittently. Cosmetics are very nice except for some minor blemishes and basic signs of light use. The small (LED) charging indicator on the stand is burned-out but may be replaced. Comes with a brand-new set of expensive, rechargeable Ni-Cad batteries. The original spent Zenith cells will also be included.
$89.00 - Offered for sale at DecoRadio's Attic.

Zenith M730 (1959)
This AM/FM Zenith tube radio sounds better than most any modern table radio of the same size. The high quality seven-tube chassis provides a rich, warm sound with no hum or static. There is one small water stain on top and a nick along the top edge of the heavy wood cabinet (see pic). So if you're looking for a great table radio with that unique vintage sound, this one may be the one for you.
$89.00 - Offered for sale at DecoRadio's Attic.

Sentinel X Portable (1938)
Here is another very rare, beautiful and unusual radio. Model X AC/DC Valise. It has six large tubes: 117Z6, 3Q5, 1H6, 1N5, 1P5, 1A5. The radio has four not original screws on the back. For some unknown reason this radio does not play well. I think one of the tubes may be shot, or something very minor. Therefore is sold cheap! 12-1/2"W x 6-3/4"D x 12-1/2"H with handle. Originally it was $200; the Special Attic price including shipping is now
$85.00 - Offered for sale at Richard Brill's Attic.

Zenith Radio 6-S-128 Tombstone (1937)
There is no more iconic American made radio than a fine Zenith. You are looking at the very first example of this radio offered on the Attic for four or more years. This is one of the good ones, and the set is a nice example. The set is original in all of the parts, the famous "Z" knobs. My technician is a Zenith collector and has a house full of them. I doubt there could be a better restoration of one of these sets to be had. He has replaced all of the filters, cap and all other components as needed. The set has a fresh power cord and plug installed for safety.
The radio is large at 23"H x 17-1/2"W x 13"D. The lighted dial, with all of the controls radiating in each corner is flawless in the ease of use. You are looking a six-inch plus sized dial. I have added a close-up for your study. The set has only one minor issue, which I did not feel warranted the set to be refinished. Look at the lowest part of the left side bottom corner; there is a subtle amount of discoloring. Unless you are looking for it, I doubt it would be ever noticed.
One evening with a set of this size and quality, and you will never question the reason that Zenith Radios are so cherished by collectors.
$459.99 - Offered for sale at Exceptional Radios.

Little Giant Cathedral/Tombstone (about 1930)
This vintage cathedral/tombstone is an impressive radio and heavy! Unknown model number or year of manufacture; it is in none of my books. Little Giant radios were made by Q.T. Radio Products and very few were made, making this a rare set. Based on the tube lineup of 3-224s, 245, 280 and TRF design, I would guess around 1930 as the likely year of manufacture. It has been electronically
(filter caps and paper caps) and cosmetically restored. It works very well, Broadcast (550-1700 KC) band only. The finish is very nice
(already restored when I bought it so not sure how it was done) and displays very well. Chassis pics are available, just ask. This
impressive and rare radio would be a great addition to any collection! 17-1/2"H x 13-3/4"W at base x 9-1/2"D. Heavy so shipping weight is 34 pounds.
$299.00 - Offered for sale at Phil Bartell's Attic.

Very rare and very unusual! It operates on AC current or can be switched to batteries (four AA batteries); a small switch does the changes. It works excellent! It is a great radio, like new! 37 years old. Special Attic price includes S&H. The last one we have! Do not miss it! You will not find another one like that! 7-1/2"W x 5-3/4"H x 2-1/2"D.
$28.00 - Offered for sale at Richard Brill's Attic.

This set has its original finish, in good condition, we just brightened it up a little. The chassis looks as good as the cabinet itself; lots of detailing went into this set to make it a prize winner. The chassis has been electronically restored as well, replacing all capacitors and out of tolerance resistors. This radio is fairly scarce, and this one is a fine example. This set will set off any room or collection anywhere. 13"H x 11"W x 8"D.
$399.00 - Offered for sale at Kenny Boyd's Attic.

This set plays loud and clear and sounds as good as it looks. The down side to this little set is the hairline crack on the right side, which is a very tight crack. The set has been electronically restored, replacing all capacitors and out of tolerance resistors, and plays like it did when it was new. This is a beautiful set, and a very collectable set as well, but because of the hairline, this one can be had for a song. 6-3/4"H x 5"Wx 5-1/2"D.
$49.00 - Offered for sale at Kenny Boyd's Attic.

They would contract from better makers and house brand the sets. This is one of those sets and a special one too. This is a most impressive radio. The set has one of the largest table black dials I have ever seen. The dial measures 8" in diameter, and is brightly lit when the set is playing. The tuning eye is very bright and strong, closing as it should when a station is finely tuned. My technician has carefully restored this exceptional set, replacement filters, caps and a through restoration complete with a new power cord and plug for safety. The large cabinet, and the six tubes, three-band radio has a tremendous sound. If you are looking for the largest black dial with bright green tuning eye, I think you found a terrific one to add to your collection. 22-1/2"W x 12"H x 11"D.
$459.99 - Offered for sale at Exceptional Radios.

This is a powerful Pioneer Stereo Amplifier Receiver which was introduced in 1976 and built through 1977. It was a popular model, having considerable power at 65 watts per channel RMS. It features a hefty power transformer and two massive capacitors and had a price tag of $500.00. Built to last and perform for years and is eagerly sought by collectors and listeners today. Its features are Speakers A & B output, Bass, Treble, Balance, Volume, Selector for AM, FM, Phono, Mic, Aux, Tape A, Tape B. The C-10 is shown on page 123 of "Zenith Radio-The Early Years," by Cones & Bryant. In 1933, Zenith introduced a completely different product line which was built in the Zenith factory but was labeled "Interocean" and "Interocean Radio Corporation." These were Zenith sets in everything but name, the only difference being in the dial escutcheon and maybe one part. This C-10 is an extremely rare set; the only picture I have ever seen is of the one in the Blankenship collection, identical to this (see page 201). It works extremely well, and covers the broadcast band. The finish is an excellent restoration and displays very well. I replaced the filter caps and paper caps. This impressive and rare radio would be a super addition to any Zenith collection! 18"H x 16"W x 10"D; shipping weight is 30 pounds.
$749.00 - Offered for sale at Phil Bartell's Attic.

It works very well, and covers the broadcast (540-1700 KC) band. The finish is nearly perfect (new clear and toned lacquers) and displays very well, showing off the wonderful grain pattern! The toned lacquer is darker than shows in the pics, due to the flash. All veneer is tight with no problems and you would be hard pressed to find a nicer example. The only fault I am aware of is that the on-off switch (uses a rod so it turns on when opened) was missing when I bought it, and has been replaced with a switch on the volume control. This very nice and rare radio would be a great addition to any collection! 10"W x 6"H x 8-1/2"D; shipping weight is 10 pounds.
$599.00 - Offered for sale at Phil Bartell's Attic.

It has been electronically and cosmetically restored. It works very well, and covers the broadcast (550-1700 KC) and shortwave (2.4-7 MC) bands. The finish was restored with clear and toned lacquers and displays very well. The electrolytic filters and paper caps were replaced with modern equivalents. Chassis pics are available. The Ingraham tag is still on the bottom. This impressive and rare radio would be a great addition to any collection, but especially for an Ingraham collection! 16-1/2"W x 10-1/2"H x 7-1/2"D; shipping weight is 16 pounds.
$549.00 - Offered for sale at Phil Bartell's Attic.

In my years of collecting I have not seen another. It has been electronically and cosmetically restored, and works extremely well, covering the broadcast (550-1700 KC) band. The finish is very nice (already restored when I bought it so not sure how it was done) and displays very well. The electrolytic and paper capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents, all tubes tested and weak ones replaced. It has a new vintage type power cord and new grille cloth. The speaker cone has been repaired, and chassis pics are available, just ask. This impressive and rare radio would be a great addition to any collection! 12"H x 10"W x 7-1/2"D; shipping weight is 20 pounds.
$499.00 - Offered for sale at Phil Bartell's Attic.

It has been electronically and cosmetically restored. It works extremely well, and covers the broadcast (550-1700 KC) and shortwave (6-17 MC) bands. The finish is very nice (already restored when I bought it so not sure how it was done) and displays very well. I replaced the filter caps and since it worked so well I left the paper caps alone. The speaker cone is perfect; I think the output transformer was replaced at some point judging from the wiring. Chassis pics are available, just ask. This impressive and rare radio would be a great addition to any collection! 17"H x 13-1/2"W x 9"D; shipping weight is 24 pounds.
$499.00 - Offered for sale at Phil Bartell's Attic.

It has been wonderfully refinished with clear and toned lacquers, and new grill cloth. It is a six-tube (47, 56, 57,2-58s, 80) super-heterodyne; all tubes have been tested and are in excellent condition. It has been electronically restored to like new condition with new modern equivalents of electrolytic and paper caps. All resistors were tested for proper values, and out of tolerance resistors were replaced with modern equivalents. It is most likely model AC-36, based on the schematic in Riders Volume 3, page 3-4 schematic for Radio Chassis. It requires a wire antenna for good reception. It is quite sensitive and strong stations may have to be de-tuned slightly as the volume control is not very effective for them. This due to the circuit design and is not a defect. A short wire will work OK but of course an external antenna will work best. This very attractive and quite rare radio would look great in any collection. 14"W x 17"H x 9 1/2"D, packed weight will be about 20 lbs.
$399.00 - Offered for sale at Phil Bartell's Attic.

Bands are broadcast 540-1600 KC and shortwave 1600-3600 KC. The five tubes are 6F7, 6D6, 75, 42, 80. The finish looks to be original and looks good except for the stain on top. The only cabinet repair is at the right front just below the upper metal inlay. All inlay is in good condition and is not missing any pieces. The decal on the front is in great condition as are the original knobs and escutcheons. It has a new output transformer and all of the capacitors have been replaced. A few minor tears in the speaker cone were repaired. Chassis pics are available. 12-1/2"W x 10-1/4"H x 7-1/2"D; shipping weight 20 pounds.
$249.00 - Offered for sale at Phil Bartell's Attic.

The radio has seen all of the attentions my technician could provide, as he is a life-long Zenith collector and simply loves working on these sets. This set is in beautiful condition and a fine example of the radio.
