 This is a pristine Teal Emerson Vanguard 888 AM radio built in 1958. Most cabinets are strong and do not crack or chip but if the logos are still there and looks like new, you can tell it was not used that much as the logos on front and back are just beautiful. They are all awesome AM players. I worked on 1930's and 40's Emerson radios and they were well built with beautiful Ingraham cabinets. This cabinet is spectacular. For its size which is a little bigger than most pocket radios of that time. It components are at least five times as big as any other small radio I have seen and the case is built much thicker, thus a stronger case and is supposed to never break. It is a radio which very little will go wrong. It has eight transistors, five new electrolytics and one wax capacitor replacement. This radio uses four "AA" batteries. The last photo is a way to make it easier to load four "AA" batteries. Your choice. 6-1/2"H x 4"W x 1-3/4"D. $225.00. (0040534)
