Philco Radio 38-2670 Tombstone (1938)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

Philco Radio 38-2670 Tombstone (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is one rare radio. This set is the largest and most powerful radio ever made by the famed factory. This prestigious radio is also one of the largest ever made. The sheer size of the set (21-3/4"H x 16-1/2"W x 16"D) is impressive. As the early 1930s model 16B, this radio is a five-band and eleven-tube model. They have married the high tube count of the early 30s model with the much advanced technology of 1938. The performance is breathtaking, with a super sound and the most advanced selectivity I have ever seen, with the exception of a Scott or McMurdo-Silver console. The set is pristine, with a tremendous cabinet, refinished and in excellent condition. My technician marveled over the performance of this radio. He has done a terrific job replacing all of the old filters and caps. Every other element has been checked for factory values. The radio was aligned and fitted with a new power cord and plug. Every attention was made in making this the very best restoration. I have never seen another example of this exceptional radio.
