Emerson 511 Plaskon (1947)

Emerson 511 Plaskon (1947)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!
The design of this 1947 Emerson radio has been attributed to the famous industrial designer Raymond Loewy, who also designed the original Coca-Cola bottle. This model was available in five colors. The swirling in this Plaskon case is very dramatic. The case is near mint condition. Due to some type of error in the molding process, about 99% of these 511 Plaskon sets have that little 1/4" mark on the ledge to the left side of the Emerson logo. Anyone who is familiar with these radios is aware of this. The plastic dial cover, which floats over the metal grille, is clear. The dial lamp is hidden in the small plastic piece at the top. The radio has been recapped, and is playing well, picking up all my local AM stations. About 10-1/2"W x 7-1/2"H x 6"D.
