RCA 28X5 (1941)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

RCA 28X5 (1941)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is an RCA pre-WWII from 1941-42 that has never been offered before on the Attic. Acquired from a collector who had the set completely restored, it's in very good condition for a 75-year-old radio. If you close your eyes, you can almost hear the planes attacking Pearl Harbor on it. I'm not sure what there is to listen to on Short Wave, but the person I acquired it from said he listened to Prince Charles' coronation on SW on it. It is receiving all my local AM stations. It's not receiving anything on SW but would probably benefit from an antenna in a tree outside your house. It's an 8-tube chassis and it's not a lightweight radio at 16"W x 12"H x 10"D. The wooden case, with beautiful trim on the front corners, is in good condition, with just a normal amount of wear to be 75 years old. The dial is in good shape with AM and SW band widths shown. It has four original knobs, the first for tone (Low/High), the second for on/off and volume, the third for tuning, and the fourth for band, (PB for Police Band, BC Low/High, Short Wave, and Phono). It's priced at the very low end of the scale, as shipping will have to be a consideration. It's a substantial radio in size and weight, so the distance it needs to travel will affect shipping costs.
