This late 1930's radio is a classic walnut cased Deco table set from Philco's popular Transitone series. This model was introduced in August 1939 in several color combinations. The walnut finish on this cabinet is original and is in excellent condition. The ivory Plaskon trim is also very nice condition with no warping or cosmetic issues. It has its original back, handle, knobs, and complete label on the bottom. The radio has two bands, AM and the old SW Dick Tracy police band where nothing is available today. The chassis has been checked by a pro, and the radio is playing fine, picking up all my local AM stations without any trouble at all. It has an absolutely super dial when lit up. About 9"W x 6"H x 6"D. It was originally priced at $16.95 in 1939, equivalent to $408 in today's dollars! I believe you would have to classify this as one of my very favorite radios, since ten have been sold on the Radio Attic, and I was the seller of seven of those. This is my last one, and it's time for another Philcoholic to own it! $269.00. (1150955)
