Peony 942 (China)

Peony 942 (China)
So, the story goes... In my travels abroad I try to pick up a radio of interest in each country I go to. In this case, I went to Beijing, China in April 1989. I left an exhibition hall to take a walk and was quickly followed by two heavily armed soldiers with AK's. I waved and kept on my walk finding a radio/electronics shop. Once inside, I was immediately attracted to the Peony 942 nine-transistor portable. What attracted me most was the style and design very reminiscent of an American radio from the early 60's. I purchased it and a few days later was told to leave the country ASAP due to the impending Tienanmen Square massacre. Anyway, this set has been in the box since new. Original plastic wrap, instruction, etc. It works Beautifully and has big sound. Made by the "Peking Radio Factory." It is in perfect, new condition. Make this set yours and you will probably be the only collector in the country with one. No armed soldiers to worry about either!  $200.00. (1240056)
