Hoffman A401 Radio-Phonograph (1946)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Check out this wonderful Mid-Century Modern radio-phonograph from Hoffman. The metal legs would make this right at home in any up-to-date late 40s or 50s living room. The lighted reverse-painted glass dial is especially nice. The automatic record changer is fully functional for playing 78 RPM records (see demo here.) The rubber idler wheel has been newly rebuilt, and a new Pfahnstiehl P51-3 cartridge (with correct needle for 78 records) has been installed. Great sound and lots of fun to use! The radio chassis has been fully restored, with all electrolytic and paper capacitors replaced, a strong set of tubes, new resistors where needed, and a full RF-IF alignment so that it works like new. A new polarized power cord has been installed for improved safety. The cabinet has its original finish in pretty respectable shape. Knobs and dial glass are original; the grille cloth has been replaced with a typical period pattern. Time to get those old 78s out of storage and start playing them! 19"W x 27"H (13" w/o legs) x 18"D.
