Garod 4A1 (1947)
(plastic tube portable radio)

Garod 4A1 (1947)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!
A ONE-DAY WONDER!

With its elaborate reverse painted clear plastic panel, this Garod is one of the cutest little portables you will encounter. The panel is in perfect condition, as are the green top and bottom covers with faux alligator skin embossed pattern. There is a small dent in the bottom right front corner of the metal cabinet, which is visible in the pictures. The chassis works like new, with its lone electrolytic capacitor having been replaced; all other components are original. Sensitivity and sound quality are good. This radio originally used one D cell and a special 67.5 volt battery; I have wired it to work now with a "D" cell and seven 9 volt batteries, so that battery replacement is easy. A fresh set of batteries is included, so this radio is ready to work for you right out of the box. Small and light, so shipping will be inexpensive, and it won't hog much space in your display! 6-1/2"W x 4-1/4"H x 3-1/2"D.
