This 1941 RCA originally had a photofinish simulated woodgrain cabinet which had mostly flaked away from age, so I gave it a custom repaint with Toyota Ooh La La Rouge red. As long as originality was out the window with the color, I figured it might as well get a built in Bluetooth receiver added to the phonograph input. The six-tube AM/SW chassis was restored by replacing all wax and electrolytic capacitors, replacing any out of tolerance tubes and resistors, and peaking the alignment. Internal loop antenna for local AM stations, add a long wire antenna and its a decent short wave receiver, turn the switch to phono and flip the Bluetooth power switch in back and it can play audio from your streaming device. 15"W x 9"H x 8"D. |
