Imperial Industries of Chicago manufactured most of their radios in the 1930's under the Imperial brand. Again we have another company with very little available information. The Radio Museum has seven models listed dating back to a headphone set from 1925, with a radio dated 1928. The 8U127 isn't listed, so we are assuming it's very rare. The Radio Attic has a few listings as well. Triangle Industries did manufacture radios for Western Auto, Belmont, and I'm sure other companies as well as their own Imperial brand. The 8U127 is an eight-tube, three-band (AM,SWx2) radio. We replaced all of the capacitors with modern equivalents. The resistors and tubes were checked and replaced where necessary. We installed a new power cord, safety fuse, and an audio input cable. The tuning eye is bright and active, and the radio performs well, receiving stations across the dial. Gary did a fantastic job refinishing the cabinet. He ended up with a gorgeous hand polished "piano" lacquer finish. The radio has the original wood knobs, chassis, and 8-inch speaker. If you're looking for a radio to add your collection that nobody else has, this radio will fill that bill!
