![]() THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
| First time on Radio Attic for this variation of the popular waterfall model GE model F-63. The big difference is the FD-62 is a 5-tube plus ballast, while the F-63 is a 6-tube set with power transformer. Both feature two bands, a four position tone control, while the FD-62 uses a 6 inch PM speaker as opposed to the 7-inch FC used in the F-63. Beyond all the technical jargon, they both feature the very Art Deco cabinet with rounded side, black inlay pinstripes, and the very cool slide-rule dial with multiple dial pointers for tuning, volume and tone all controlled with bullet shaped knobs. This example has been serviced with all new filter and paper capacitors, out of tolerance resistors changed, a strong set of tested tubes, new line cord, plus the 3.5 aux cord for playing your own content through the radio. It plays loud and strong across the dial with a long wire attached. Was able to receive on SW & Police bands too. And the dial looks amazing in a darkened room! The cabinet was completely refinished using toners and topped off with a light spray of clear enamel for sheen and durability. Don't miss this one, they don't turn up very often! 17-1/2"W x 9"H x 8-1/2"D. |
