| The iconic 1939/1940 "Candy Cane" Silvertone 3551 Commentator in good condition has become a rare sight these days, but this pristine brown example that's been stored for 85 years in its original cardboard box is rare as it gets. It works great, too. The only small issue it has is a hairline crack at the bottom right of the case, barely visible. The owner must have caused it and felt bad enough to put it to slumber for decades. Otherwise, it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the meticulous collector who likes radios original as they get. In the box are the original warranty card, manuals, and station call letters; some used. |
