|The Sparks-Withington Co. of Jackson, MI has a long history, claiming to have introduced the first all-electric radio in 1925. In the '50s it produced a series of small elliptical table radios. This example, of ivory plastic, turns out to be a quite conventional five-tube (mixed peanut and octal) broadcast-band AM radio. The built-in wire loop antenna is elliptical too, of course. It plays well and sounds good. While there are no cracks, there are quite a few indentations on the ends of the cabinet (see photographs) that may possibly have been caused by storing the set with the line cord wrapped around it. About 13"W x 6"H x 7"D.|
