General Electric 212 (1948)

General Electric 212 (1948)
Sold by Jeff Lilly on July 7, 2017
Listed price on date of sale - $95.00
Here's an early FM/AM set from 1948, with a striking mid-century design blending wood, plastic, and fabric. This is a seven-tube set utilizing the new-at-the-time miniature tubes. I replaced the three weak ones, recapped and aligned the set. Performance is decent for an early FM set, and it sounds good on AM too. This set has a host of minor flaws. There are chips in the wood on the corners and some finish loss on the edges. There are some stress marks in the plastic, mostly on the side but one on the front as well. The propeller dial has been carefully fixed. The cloth is intact and clean and the back is solid and original. This set still displays well and its flaws mean a good low price for you!
