|When I purchased the TV I noticed that there was a meter attached to the left side. The meter was made by the Nuclear Research Corp. I remember my parents having a thing about sitting to close to the TV in the 50's and 60's. At that time they felt that sitting too close could expose you to harmful levels of radiation. In this case someone went so far as to monitor the radiation. I believe there was a white plastic piece that went around the picture tube to take up the corner space and the back is missing. Otherwise it appears complete. It is really in excellent original condition. There is finish wear from aging, but no veneer loss or damage. The reverse painted plastic face is perfect and the set displays great as is. These were made in 1947 making it among the first generation of production TV's. The power cord is not original, but I was able to test it. It is functional and had good sound quality, but only a bright snowy picture. In addition the meter is working and shows that the set does release a small level of radiation. A great piece of early TV history. 16-1/2"W x 9-1/2"H x 16-1/2"D.|
