Stewart-Warner R-1262A "the Stuart" Tombstone (1936)
Sold by Lew Magrish on November 4, 2017
Listed price on date of sale - $1,499.00
This was the most deluxe model of these highly Deco and stylized tombstones. These are considered to be a connoisseur blue chip model. The radio is a real stunning use of mixed exotic veneers, the face out of Birdseye maple, striped mahogany and American walnut. The condition is very good with a modest amount of wear to the original finish. The radio has a nice gloss to the black lacquer top and retains the factory installed speaker cloth and wood knobs. This deluxe model is a seven-tube super-het that plays on both AM and Shortwave. This model is considered to be one of the most Deco radios ever created! Les has done his highly professional repairs and the radio plays as if new. Les has added a mini-jack to the radio allowing your addition of any modern device. You can listen to any content from your computer, phone or pad. Bluetooth is available for $25 additional. 19-1/2"H x 14"W x 13"D.
