Raytheon 8TP-1 Transistor (1955)
(x tube portable radio)

Raytheon 8TP-1 Transistor (1955)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is the world's second transistor radio (early 1955, a few months after the Regency TR1). It is two tone tan leather with a leather covered metal carrying handle. The handle is in rough shape and there is no back cover on the radio. Otherwise it is in good shape, and looks like it is all original inside. I couldn't get it to play but I believe it could be restored.
