(wood tube tombstone radio)

Zenith 9-S-232 "Walton" Tombstone (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is a superb playing, nine-tube version of the Zenith radio made famous by "The Waltons" TV show. It has the "Robot" dial, which means the dial front changes by turning the bandswitch. It also has motorized tuning for faster frequency changes. The radio has been electronically restored with all new capacitors, good tubes and resistors. It has been aligned according to specifications in the Zenith Repair manual and it plays just fabulous on all bands. The cabinet has been restored and refinished with lacquer. I purchased this cabinet ten years ago with a bad chassis. The knobs, chassis, and speaker were purchased separately. The speaker is not original but is an 8" speaker from that period of time. The knobs are a mixture of real and reproduction. The grille cloth is an exact reproduction. A good price for a fine radio. 23"H x 18-1/2"W x 15"D.
