Zaney-Gill Tombstone Clock Radio w/Original Stand
(wood tube tombstone radio)

Zaney-Gill Tombstone Clock Radio w/Original Stand

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This Zaney-Gill clock radio dates from circa 1931 and I do not have the model number. In the twenty years I've owned this set, this is the only example I'm aware of. A very similar radio is listed in machine Age To Jet Age 2 on page 346 with the name McCormick. Noted differences include three knobs vs. two, escutcheons, differences in grille cutouts, clocks are different and the chassis would not be the same. There are only two minor issues with this radio. The dial is worn and there is some base veneer missing. The base of course does not show so I never bothered to repair it. This set is in excellent cosmetic condition. The grille cloth is the correct replacement, but the balance appears to be all original down to the power cord. The chassis has been serviced and plays well with strong reception. The clock works and keeps time. There are no chassis bolts and never were. The only thing holding in the chassis is the small wood block in the rear. It is cut so the chassis fits in and it is secured with a screw. Don't miss this opportunity to own this great piece of LA radio history ready for display and preservation. 42"H including the stand.
