Guild 556 "Country Belle" (1956)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

Guild 556 "Country Belle" (1956)

AM. Looks like an old country telephone but it's really a tube radio! Lift the receiver and the radio comes on! Volume, tone and tuning controls on the right side and speaker on the bottom. Outer solid rock maple outer case in excellent original condition. Original sticker on the back. Hangs on a wall and plugs into any AC outlet just like a regular radio. Inner radio chassis has been serviced (see below) and radio plays well with very good sensitivity. Guild was based in Inglewood, CA, and made very few radios. A truly rare and unique radio to hang in your country kitchen. 7-5/8"W x 18"H x 11-1/2"D.
