This small heavily swirled brown Bakelite radio is a Wells Gardner "Arcadia" model. The Arcadia label was rubbed off many, many years ago. What remains on the front way down near the bottom is the embossed: "Made in the United States of America." I like the sound of that! Wells Gardner made some incredible radios through the years but mostly for retailers. This Arcadia, however, is one of their cherished babies they kept in their own stable. Electronically reconditioned, aligned with all old paper capacitors, electrolytics and out of tolerance resistors replaced. For maximum station sensitivity it's recommended to use additional wire attached to the existing factory external antenna. A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" Collector's Special!
