Regency TR-1
(plastic transistor portable radio)

Regency TR-1

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is where it all started. The first commercially produced transistor radio made in Indianapolis, Indiana and introduced in 1954. The bone white color is nice looking and not stained or blotchy. The cabinet condition is excellent with no hairlines on the corners and no chips or cracks. The back fits on nice and snug and it comes off easily if you use the proper method. Inside, the chassis is all original and pretty clean including the label. During my brief attempt, it did not respond when power was applied. Nice example of the bone white color. (At some point in time, it looks like one capacitor was replaced, but the original one was retained and is included inside.)
