Truetone Tombstone (1937)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

Truetone Tombstone (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Model unknown. This six tube, three band tombstone features an unusual speaker with a pivoting lever in place of the normal voice coil. Originally a farm radio, this one has been cleverly modified to AC power, with the transformer and filters hidden in the battery box. Reception is very good up and down the BC band (the shortwave bands are there, but faint with the attached 10 ft wire antenna). The fanciful dial sports an outer-space motif, and lights up in colors when the set is on. Restored electrics, new lacquer finish in original tones and new replica grille cloth complete this unique radio. Shipping weight 22 pounds.
