Truly the classic Catalin radio! This is the earlier model, made just before the country went to war. You can tell the earlier model from the later, by the split dial and the "gumdrop" knobs. The handle is a drop down style and operates perfectly. This radio is actually made from alabaster or ivory Catalin Bakelite. The Bakelite has naturally aged to a stunning and even "pumpkin." This is the finest example that I have ever seen, with dramatic swirls in the Bakelite. The radio is perfect and has no cracks, chips, or repairs. The radio retains the full factory back and is a playing radio. A radio of this caliber is seldom available for sale! 11"W x 7-1/2"H x 6-1/2"D.
