Atwater Kent 165 Cathedral (1933)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Atwater Kent 165 Cathedral (1933)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is one of the special sets made by this famed Philadelphia factory. For my money, there were no better radios of this era than A-K's. This is one of two models which were made with a very delicate burn out lace grille. The radio is a smaller set measuring 14-1/2"H x 12"W x 9"D. This was the era of the "Grand Cathedrals," so it was not only decorative but innovative as well. The radio is a five-tube model offering both broadcast and shortwave bands. The condition is terrific. My technician has done a great job in restoring the radio. He replaced all of the filters and caps. He replaced all of the interior wiring, which this maker used and did not survive the decades in good condition. Every other component was tested for factory values, and replaced as needed. The radio is a solid playing set, and a new reproduction silk covered power cord and plug have been added for your daily and safe operation.
