Detrola 5D1 Tombstone (1936)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This radio plays standard broadcast (AM) and Shortwave. This is a stunning mid-size Art Deco/machine age tombstone radio. This radio was designed in the height of the Art Deco Period (Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, etc.). This is a striking radio and would make an excellent piece of Americana history, in any room of the house or office. Imagine the families who sat around this beautiful radio, listening to one of FDR's fireside chats. Detrola was well known for its beautifully designed cabinets and are now sought after by collectors. The finish is factory original, with the entire factory installed parts. My technician has replaced all of the filters and caps. The balance of the electronics are tested for factory correct values. The power cord and plug were replaced for your everyday safe operation. 15-1/2"H x 11-1/2"W x 7"D.
