Philco 116B Tombstone (1933)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

Philco 116B Tombstone (1933)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

You are looking at one of the finest radios made in this era. The super powerful eleven tube chassis is renowned for the great power and selectivity that were the finest engineering of its day. This was the best radio that Philco ever produced as a table radio. The radio is an awesome player with perhaps the finest sound quality that I have ever heard in a table radio. The radio is a very large and tall set. Since you are looking at a high-grade console-like radio in a table set, the eight-inch speaker and large chassis required the enormous size. The radio is also exceptionally heavy, as they built a huge transformer to match to the high tube count. The radio, completely restored electronically, with all new filters and caps, and resisters replaced. The radio in every technical respect meets all of the factory specs. A fine silk reproduction power cord and plug have been added for your safety. This is a nice radio just to listen to, and enjoy its classic beauty. This round top beauty measures 22-1/2"H x 17"W x 13"D.
