Atwater Kent 80 Cathedral (1932)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Atwater Kent 80 Cathedral (1932)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

In the early era of super-het receivers, there was no better name than Atwater Kent. Known for decades as the premier maker of fine radios, this model was the first to offer the high technology of automatic volume control. This model sported fine barley twist side columns and the ornate zebra-wood veneer arch. The example before you is a very fine example. The finish is very good and original. The speaker cloth and knobs are also factory original. Clearly, this example was well cared for over the decades and is a wonderful example. My tech has done a thorough repair of the six-tube chassis and has replaced all of the filter caps, and condensers that are prone to failure. Add a tuner alignment and a fine silk/cotton reproduction power cord and plug, makes this radio a solid player. 19-1/2"H x 16"W x 10"D.
