(wood tube tombstone radio)

Grunow 750 "World Cruiser" Tombstone (1934)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This was the finest tombstone model produced by Grunow Radio. You can see the extreme detail of cabinet veneers in a very ornate design around the dial area. The level of craftsmanship is very ornate. This is a very large set, and is a very impressive in person. The radio is a seven-tube, broadcast/shortwave receiver, clearly top of the line in every respect. This is a beautiful example, with a terrific refinished cabinet, factory installed speaker cloth and knobs. Not a common set, as these were very expensive radios in the depths of the Depression. Called the "World Cruiser" for the powerful super-het chassis and the sheer ability to receive distant signals. My technician has done is usual complete repair, replacing all of the filter caps, and all of the condensers and resisters as needed. Add a fine tuner alignment with a exact reproduction power cord and Bakelite plug, makes this set a plug and play addition to your collection! 20"H x 16-1/4"W x 12"D.
