Silvertone 1152 Cathedral (1932)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Silvertone 1152 Cathedral (1932)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is one of the most ornate and rare cathedral radios offered for sale. The radio was crafted by Colonial Radio for exclusive distribution by Sears. The sculptured and extremely ornate front is cast of repwood, which is a mixture of wood and rubber. The condition is perfect! The radio is in original condition with minor rippling of the veneer on the right side (see photo #3). The radio has the highly ornate factory installed embossed wood knobs and an accurate reproduction speaker cloth. The chassis is a very early six-tube super-het. This is so early, note the dial scale which was still the earlier type. Les has completed his highly professional repairs and the radio is a remarkable player. The radio because of the early technology performs best with a decent antenna which is attached. Because of the type of circuitry, this set does not have a mini-jack or Bluetooth. I doubt you have seen one of these and the detail and beauty of the radio is tremendous and the most distinctive cathedral radio. 16-3/4"H x 15"W x 9-1/4"D.
