The nickname comes from the thermometer in the middle of the back painted multi-colored dial which raises and lowers as you change the various bands. This company was based in Chicago and made quality radios for various catalogue retailers and a few choice radios under their own label. Contained within this highly detailed refinished cabinet is a sophisticated six-tube super-het playing on AM and Shortwave. The radio offers a brand new green tuning eye which winks as you change from station to station. The speaker cloth is a period correct pattern with the copper ringed six sided factory wood knobs. Les has completed his professional repairs and the radio is a terrific player. Les included a mini-jack to allow you to connect with any modern device or add the Bluetooth receiver for only $25. 17-1/4"H x 15-1/4"W x 10-1/2"D.
