Stewart-Warner R-1262A "The Stuart" Tombstone (1936)
(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

Stewart-Warner R-1262A "The Stuart" Tombstone (1936)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This was the most deluxe model of these highly Deco and stylized tombstones. These are considered to be a connoisseur blue chip model. This was the very best model ever produced by this gilt edge maker. Being such a high end model, this set originally was a five band receiver. Three of the bands are now vacant, but the radio easily receives both AM and shortwave. The band selector is the toggle knob on the bottom row and the transmission easily works as new. The radio is a real stunning use of mixed exotic veneers, the face out of Birdseye Maple, striped Mahogany and American Walnut. The condition is beautiful and has been professionally refinished. The radio has a nice gloss to the black lacquer top and accurate reproduction speaker cloth and original wood knobs. The radio is a stunning example! This deluxe model is a seven-tube super-het that plays on both AM and Shortwave. My tech has done his highly professional repairs and the radio plays as if new. His repair has added a mini-jack to the radio allowing your addition of any modern device. You can listen to any content from your computer, phone or pad. Bluetooth is available for $25 additional. 19-1/2"H x 14"W x 13"D.
