Majestic "Charlie McCarthy" Model 1 Novelty (1939)
(plastic tube novelty radio)

Majestic "Charlie McCarthy" Model 1 Novelty (1939)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is a beautiful example of a very collectible set. As the "older generation" knows, Edgar Bergen and his dummy "Charlie McCarthy" were a giant comedy ventriloquist act in the 30's and 40's on radio, vaudeville, and even on TV in the 50's. This radio has been completely restored inside and out, all caps replaced as well as resistors and tubes as needed etc. It plays loud and clear, my guarantee applies. The back is the only part not authentic but many of my customers like my custom made acrylic back panels that create a museum-like see-through panel. About 9 pounds packed.
