RCA 5T Tombstone (1936)
(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

RCA 5T Tombstone (1936)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is a great example of the fierce competition between Zenith and RCA in the mid 30's. Zenith had such success with the black dials that RCA just had to do it too! So this radio has been fully restored inside and out. It plays loud and clear, and the dial is right on broadcast band as well as shortwave. The restoration was a full frame off and I restuffed the can caps then replaced all the other caps and resistors. Aligned to peak. The cabinet is refinished with semi gloss lacquer. The Bakelite knobs are original. There is new grille cloth, and a new cloth cord, and a new dial lens. Kind of cool the way the little colored arrows indicate the band that you are on. There is a 3.5mm aux input jack in back that automatically switches when it is used. I can supply the Bluetooth receiver for $15 extra. 18"H x 13"W x 8"D; about 26 lbs packed.
