(wood tube tombstone radio)

Stromberg-Carlson 58T Tombstone (1936)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

If you like big beautiful tombstone radios, this is for you! This Stromberg Carlson "Triple Range" AM/SW radio works great on all three bands. It was made by Stromberg Carlson Telephone Mfg. Co., Rochester, NY, for the 1936 model year. Stromberg Carlson was top of the line in radio manufacture and this is no exception. Bands are Broadcast 550-1500 KHz, Police 1.5-3.5 MHz and Shortwave 5.6-18 MHz; there are six tubes. The finish and grille cloth look original and are in very good condition, as is the very clean and clear dial. Veneer is excellent but has some minor repair at the right side rear that does not detract. It has been electronically restored with all paper and electrolytic capacitors replaced, all resistors and tubes checked and replaced as necessary, aligned to correct frequencies and IF transformers peaked for best performance. Chassis is very clean and excellent top and bottom! Additional pics available, just ask! This is a very impressive tombstone at 19"H x 14-1/2"W x 10"D.
