Olympic Opta Bella Luxus Type 5711W (1958)
(wood tube table radio)

Olympic Opta Bella Luxus Type 5711W (1958)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Offered is a very nice West German-made Olympic Opta Bella Luxus type 5711W in excellent original condition. Cabinet has the original high gloss finish with minimal crazing due to age. Six tubes and three bands: AM 550-1600 KHz, SW 6-18 MHz, FM 88-108 MHz. Excellent performance on all bands; includes tone control behind volume control. Built-in phono input, three speakers: one 5" x 7" and two small electrostatic type. Includes an external speaker connection. All push-buttons work properly, and the selection of pre-set tone controls is a nice feature. Tuning indicator tube is still bright. Grille cloth is replacement and in excellent condition. Most European radios of that era were very large, this is a very nice size at 15"W x 10"H x 8"D, weighs 19 pounds packed. The things I like more than the small size is the combination of AM, FM and SW, the diverse selection of tone controls, and the multiple speakers giving it wonderful sound. An iPod (Aux) input cable has been added. I've sold four of these with no problems. A video of an identical one I sold can be viewed here.
