Silvertone 1660 Cathedral (1933)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Silvertone 1660 Cathedral (1933)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This classic quite small cathedral radio is from the early depression era. It is an AC-powered five-tube superhet covering the standard broadcast band. When I looked at the chassis, it was all original and in excellent condition. I don't think it was ever used much. A complete tuneup with all new capacitors, tubes and resistors checked and replaced as needed was performed. It performs very well, and needs a short wire antenna (included). The cabinet appears to be original finish and is very nice so I left it alone. Finish looks lighter than it is; it is close to that shown in top view. Grille cloth and knobs are original, speaker is original and in excellent condition. Grille cloth has a tiny flaw at top. If you want it replaced I will do that, but I thought best to leave it original. Chassis is very clean and pics are available, just email me. Aux input cable was added so you can plug in an iPod, CD player, etc., and play audio through the radio. Add a Bluetooth receiver and use a smart phone. 90 day warranty applies. An excellent addition to any collection! Great gift! 14"H x 12"W x 9"D.
