(wood tube table radio)

Fairbanks-Morse 72 (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Indiana's famed Fairbanks Morse Co. is perhaps best known for its locomotive and related products, but also had a line of very high quality radios in the 30's. The model 72 is most often encountered as a console, and this is one of a small number manufactured as a table unit, albeit big. Multi function unusual oval dial with an 8" speaker provide very good for the day sound quality. Beautiful cabinet with great presence. Restored to a gloss finish, with the chassis being refurbished. Large at 19"W x 15"H x 12"D.
