Zenith 6-S-321 "Stars & Stripes" (1939)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Zenith 6-S-321 "Stars & Stripes" (1939)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here's a beautiful Art Deco Zenith pre-War model 6-S-321 from 1938-39, highly prized among collectors. The radio cabinet is in rare shape because it still retains its original faux burl photo finish. Many of these cabinets have been completely refinished, and when stripper was applied, the faux photo finish was gone forever! Only the top, which had some scratches and wear, was professionally refinished to match the rest of the case. The radio is working and playing when using an extended antenna wire. This model is referred to as the "Stars and Stripes" for its beautiful brass escutcheon. The brass escutcheon has been polished back to like new condition. The grille cloth and the knobs are completely original. It has a striking gold dial and clear glass original cover, and twin dial lamps. And it has five original push buttons and dial station tabs. The Zenith model number is stamped on the back edge of the case. These radios never came with backs. I love radios that were featured in movies. This set was featured in "RIO RITA" with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. Nazi spies were trying to sneak bombs into the USA from Mexico. About 17-1/2"W x 11-1/2"H x 8-1/2"D.
